If they're offering a portion of it as free debt consolidation, it's just a bonus for you. Usually free debt consolidation actually is a little cheaper overall. While free debt consolidation aren't as cheap as non-profit debt consolidation programs, they usually are cheaper than other for-profit debt consolidation companies.
Even better--free debt consolidation offers can come in the form of a basic debt consolidation program, online debt consolidation, debt consolidation loans, credit card debt consolidation...the list goes on and on. Companies offering free debt consolidation are just doing so as a marketing ploy. That may or may not make you mad, but don't write off free debt consolidation completely.
